Modernist collection
"Color is the most relative medium in art." J. Albers
Modernist wallpaper collection is a free-flowing exploration of the philosophical movement of the same name. It emerged at the end of the 19th century , drawing its inspiration from the transformations experienced by Western societies, closely linked to industrial development. Modernism flourished in the 20th century , particularly in painting, through a simplification of forms, geometry, and the rationality of lines tending towards abstraction.
We draw inspiration from the creative freedom of that era to create this wallpaper collection, referencing the artistic and architectural innovations of the first half of the 20th century, such as those championed by the Bauhaus.
Minimal decor, pure and functional geometric lines, new techniques and materials, marked interest in volumes and forms, we particularly wanted to pay homage to the work of Anni Albers, an American textile artist, designer, lithographer, weaver who embraced the principles laid down by the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College.
