blue monkeys

Inspiration

Our gouache reinterpretation was made from the fresco known as the “blue monkeys” executed 1600 years BC in the City of Akrotiri. This mural painting is located on the island of Santorini in the Cyclades's heart. It has been told that a boat from Africa would have docked the shores of the Greek island and would have introduced these monkeys... We fell under the spell of this fresco whose lines and colors are surprisingly reminiscent of the modernist movement arrived more than 3500 years later. "Les Singes bleus" model combines both a form of sparkling playfulness and an age-old history, and brings an original elegant touch to your interiors. + info here | Akrotiri
