Les Anémones de Pierre
Collection Botaniste“Les Anémones” is an original creation in oil © Le Presse Papier .
Inspiration
This floral and rustic creation, made by hand by one of the first designers to enter our workshops, is worked in oil. Here again we want to pay homage to the huge tradition of textile know-how of the city of Lyon where the floral motif has been in the spotlight since the 18th century. Perennial anemones, sometimes called wind girls, depicted in this model appear to be agitated by a light wind.
The refined technique of the accomplished textile designer here emancipates to allow a more flexible gesture, a more diffuse touch and shimmering colors to be expressed. He is part of the continuity of illustrious artists, who put their know-how as painters to create decorative works. The Lyonnais, Pillement , in the 18th century became Queen Marie-Antoinette's decorator , the Nabis, at the end of the 19th century, wanted to literally break down the boundaries between the Fine Arts and the Applied Arts.
