Animals in the wallpaper

The first animals depicted in wallpaper date back to ancient China, where they held strong symbolic value (birds, dragons, tigers). Introduced to Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, they became decorative and narrative elements in chinoiserie and Toile de Jouy.

In the 19th century, industrialization democratized these motifs, which were often repeated and more accessible. Gradually, their representation became more stylized with movements like Art Deco.

Today, in our contemporary creations, the animal motifs we design contribute to creating atmospheres imbued with nature, exoticism or fantasy.
