Purple: A polysemous color

Between Purple and Blue, warm or cold color depending on perceptions, Violet and its nuances lend themselves to various evocations.

A reference to violet and its old-fashioned and romantic connotation, Violet also evokes mysticism and spirituality or the political commitment of the suffragettes who easily found this shade in their wardrobes. Thanks to its absence in nature and because of the cost to produce it, Violet becomes the color of royalty.

Called subniger or half-black in medieval times, Violet added with White becomes Mauve; reddened he is a Purple; reddened and pale it is a Pink. We also separate the shades of Lilac, Plum, Eggplant, Parma or Garnet and Caput mortuum.
