Inspiration

Lush vegetation, two vibrant birds with majestic plumage… available in two colors, Day and Night, this original creation pays homage to the richness and flourishing of textiles during the Second Empire. Supported by Empress Eugénie and the splendor of Napoleon III's court, the field of textile creation in France experienced remarkable growth during this period thanks to numerous innovations: fabric printing techniques, original designs, and artificial dyes, among others.

The great silk manufacturers of Lyon had a prominent place in this development, with the Tassinari and Chatel covering the royal residences with its finest fabrics.

This modernized, original and whimsical design finds its inspiration precisely in a plate from the Thierry Mieg factory in Mulhouse, one of the jewels of 19th-century textile printing, renowned throughout the world for the quality of its prints, the exceptional richness of its colors and the beauty of its designs.
