Inspiration
This textile archive, probably from the 19th century, echoes the marked taste of the end of the 18th century for canvases decorated with indienne patterns, but also the links woven between clothing and interior decoration. Prized for their lightness and their whimsical exotic patterns, indiennes integrate the feminine and masculine wardrobe as well as the tapestry, upholstery of the armchairs, the bed linens or the walls.
Here we find a clever interweaving of flowers, leaves and fruits that dot climbing branches, bringing great dynamism to this pattern tinged with bold colors that stand out against an ecru background.
A fine black line delicately highlights the fall of a petal, the cut of a branch, the luscious roundness of a fruit.
