Inspiration

Our gouache reinterpretation is based on the so-called "blue monkeys" fresco produced in 1600 BC in the city of Akrotiri. This mural is located on the island of Santorini in the heart of the Cyclades. The story goes that a boat from Africa would have landed on the shores of the Greek island and introduced these monkeys... We fell under the spell of this fresco whose lines and colours are surprisingly reminiscent of the modernist movement that arrived more than 3500 years later. The Blue Monkeys model combines a form of sparkling mischief with a thousand-year-old history, and brings an original elegant touch to your home. + More info here | Akrotiri
