Jean de La Fontaine – Classic Blue – Fabric by the meter
Collection TraditionOn Velvet or Vosges canvas woven in France
Inspiration
Aesop, Greek poet of the 7th century BC inspired the great Jean de La Fontaine to write his animal fables. Although written in classic French, they have not aged a bit to this day and each fable still teaches its own moral and invites to reflexion . For this new creation and these drawings styled as an old drypoint etching, we have chosen a composition with small scenes characteristic of the emblematic Toile de Jouy . La Fontaine's fables have been illustrated numerous times, among others by Baptiste Oudry and Gustave Doré in the 18th Century or more recently by the excellent Benjamin Rabier and even Chagall ... You will therefore find here our vision for The Raven and the Fox, The Hare and the Tortoise, The Cicada and the Ant, The Wolf and the Lamb, The Oak and the Reed, The Lion and the Rat; As an inexhaustible source of the French spirit, they will delight young and old alike. The model is also available in 7 distinct colors.

High resistance to abrasion, for durable, high-quality furnishing textiles
Our textile products are tested using the Martindale , which allows us to evaluate the abrasion resistance of a fabric over time. This is particularly useful for choosing a fabric that will be used often: armchair seats, sofa covers, cushions, etc. This test is expressed in number of revolutions (the Martindale machine rotates while rubbing the fabric), and for example, the French furniture standard is 10,000 Martindale revolutions for sofa coverings.
