Nathalie Rives x Le Presse Papier for Zoo Art Show

Interior designer Nathalie Rives and Le Presse Papier have teamed up to create the VIP suite for the Zoo Art Show exhibition. A rock-inspired and unconventional design, where 20th-century designer furniture meets plant and graphic motifs.

Zoo Art Show: The VIP Suite

Around fifty renowned artists from various fields of urban art are leaving their mark on a 600 m² industrial building undergoing renovation. Two vast exhibition spaces showcase original works on their walls, taking full advantage of the building's architecture. This unique project, organized by Folks, runs from June 2nd to July 31st and is called Zoo Art Show.

The VIP suite, an adjoining space reserved for private events, showcases a bourgeois apartment with a chic, edgy style. Designed by Nathalie Rives & Le Presse Papier, it is furnished with a selection of designer furniture from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, in vibrant, pop colors. The walls are adorned with hues from our partner Ressource, harmonizing with seven designer wallpapers that are highly representative of our collections: botanical and tropical themes, graphic patterns, reissues…

Chic destruction: Creating a surprise

In keeping with the spirit of this unique and surprising exhibition, the VIP suite, while not incorporating any street art, is nonetheless original and striking in its contrasts. The cracked ceiling, left as it was, serves as a reminder of the installation's ephemeral nature and stands in stark contrast to the very traditional features of the bourgeois apartment: fireplaces, high ceilings, herringbone parquet flooring…

On the walls, the wallpaper combinations chosen by Nathalie Rives are also unexpected: Flamingo sits alongside Acapulco Olive, Caribbean Night shares a wall with Afro Triangle Celadon, whose very graphic patterns overlook a typically Haussmannian fireplace… Vintage mirrors create dialogues between the different walls, and old portraits bring their totally offbeat touch.

Nathalie Rives, interior stylist

After studying communications in Paris, Nathalie Rives lived in Buenos Aires and New York. Enriched by these diverse cultures, she settled in Lyon upon her return to France and opened her design gallery while also offering her talents as an interior stylist. Eclecticism, a focus on artisanal craftsmanship, attention to detail, originality… These few words perfectly describe Nathalie's personal approach to a variety of projects: furniture publisher and gallery owner, color designer for the Ressource brand, and of course, stylist for the creation and renovation of hotels, restaurants, apartments, and more, both in France and abroad.

"I have great respect for the craftsmanship of upholsterers, gilders, dressmakers, cabinetmakers, and painters, without whom we decorators would be nothing more than conductors without musicians."

With this philosophy, the collaboration between Nathalie Rives and Le Presse Papier seemed like a natural fit!
